Gülcan Karadağ’s art is a showcase of personal experiences, traditions, and imagination. At the heart of this display lies a strong technique nourished by mysticism. Her compositions often feature harmonious transitions achieved through a bold color palette, gradient brushstroke techniques, various geometric structures, and spirals. Her sensitive use of light and shadow creates a sense of realism and depth in her works.
Gülcan Karadağ graduated from the Painting Department of Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. To date, she has held 31 solo exhibitions in Turkey, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, France, and Japan. Her works are included in numerous private collections both in Turkey and abroad. Karadağ continues her work in Istanbul, interpreting symbols and figures from the history of thought through a contemporary lens. What matters most to the artist is reflecting the surreal mystery formed by the union of spirit and color through her unique technique.
